PlatePrep AI ("PlatePrep," "we," "our," or "us") operates plateprepdemo.com, plateprep.com, and the PlatePrep operating platform for independent restaurants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information from restaurant operators, partners, and website visitors.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the platform, sell PlatePrep, and support customers:
- Contact details you provide — name, email, phone number, restaurant name, city, state, and message content when you submit the contact form, book a demo, or reply to our outreach.
- Account information — for signed operators, the details required to run PlatePrep in their kitchen (recipes, order guides, staff logins, plate cost data).
- Usage information — standard web logs (pages viewed, referring links, device type, timestamps) used to improve the site and detect abuse.
- Partner data — brokers, resellers, and referrers we work with provide contact info and payment routing for commission processing.
2. How we use it
- Reply to your inquiries, book demos, and sign Founder's 50 operators.
- Run the PlatePrep platform for paying customers.
- Send transactional communications (account, billing, onboarding) and, when you've opted in, marketing communications.
- Improve the product and the website.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.
3. Text messages and SMS consent (10DLC)
By opting in on our contact form or by texting a keyword to a PlatePrep number, you consent to receive Marketing and Customer care sms from PlatePrep.com. Message frequency may vary. Standard Message and Data Rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
What we send by SMS
- Customer care and one-on-one communication — replies to your outreach, appointment reminders, demo confirmations, onboarding steps, and account-related messages.
- Marketing — occasional Founder's 50 seat updates, product news, and event invitations (only if you selected marketing consent on the form).
How to opt out
- Reply STOP to any PlatePrep SMS to be unsubscribed immediately.
- Reply HELP to any PlatePrep SMS to receive help contact information.
- Email chef@plateprep.com to be removed from all message categories.
Message frequency and fees
Message frequency will vary and depends on your account activity and consent selections. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. PlatePrep does not charge you separately for SMS.
Data sharing for SMS
Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in status are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We share this information only with the SMS carriers required to deliver messages (currently Zoho Voice) and with law enforcement when legally required.
SMS opt-in data sharing (10DLC required disclosure): We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Email communications
We send email replies, demo confirmations, and, when you've provided your email in a form or opted into a campaign, marketing sequences. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use standard web analytics to understand which pages are viewed. We do not sell your data. We do not track you across other websites.
6. How long we keep information
We keep contact submissions and account data for as long as you have an active PlatePrep account, or up to three (3) years after your last interaction with us, whichever is longer. We may keep longer records where required by law (tax, accounting, compliance).
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing chef@plateprep.com. If you are a resident of California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, you have the right to know what data we hold and to request its deletion, subject to legal exceptions.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and controlled access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
PlatePrep is a business platform not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated to active account holders by email.
